I don't think you have a credible source with this article. Looks like the author needs to do fact checking from thier own website. The bonus is $50K not $500K.Pressure's on...LINK
Well they ought to make it $500K if she beat UCONN. Just sayin'I don't think you have a credible source with this article. Looks like the author needs to do fact checking from thier own website. The bonus is $50K not $500K.
"and bonuses of at least $50,000 for each win in the Big Dance."

Not UCONN related at all. I just did not read down far enough.Yes, but ...maybe there's some fine print that adds: however, if that win is against UConn, the bonus increases to $500,000.
Perhaps I erred in using that source...it certainly caught my attention. Thanks for the additional insight. One that is true whether 50k or 500k, is that the students won't get any extra for winning.I don't think you have a credible source with this article. No the mistake was mine for not reading down far enough. She does have $500K riding on a win tonight or any other year that she's under contract.Perhaps I erred in using that source...it certainly caught my attention. Thanks for the additional insight. She is one of the top 25 people active in her profession and has been for a very long time. And while Rutgers WCBB program may not be making money, I bet it isn't losing as much money as their MCBB or Football program are (or have in the last 10 years.) She is a good face for an Athletic program that has a lot of tarnish on it.No the mistake was mine for not reading down far enough. She does have $500K riding on a win tonight or any other year that she's under contract.
Coaches salaries need to be discussed for WCBB. Stringer got $53.00 for every fan that came to a Rutgers game this year.
Good for her! I think this coaches vs. players comparison is just crap. This is a professional who has been plying her trade for 40 years in a pretty competitive environment vs. kids who are still learning how to play and trying to get an education and build a resume for future employment opportunities - and they are receiving $50K +/- in compensation while they do it. What is the starting salary for a college graduate or more closely comparable a HS graduate with a little college but no degree? And what did Shea earn as an assistant coach at Pitt her first few years? Or what does the HC at Tufts earn?Just wow!
Vivian is doing a good job of starting the dialogue herself. her latest:
" I'm saying to you period: My pay has been cut in half," Stringer said. "So let's not get it twisted. When you're talking about that, Vivian is trying to earn her way back. I would have to win a god-darn championship to get the money that I was getting before. So it bothers me because I'm just trying to win a basketball game. That's all I'm trying to do."
