I remember having to play soccer in Jr. High gym class. I thought it was a stupid game. The Greek and Latino kids loved it and could do a few tricks like bouncing the ball on their knee, but I didn't think it took a lot of skill. Then I saw some Pele highlights on Wide World of Sports and saw a goal on a bicycle kick for the first time. It was a 'holy shiite' moment as it seemed that was a level of skill and athleticism that surpassed anything I'd seen in the 4 major US sports at the time.
