This is why I try to ignore recruiting until a player is on campus and focus on the players that are there.

Stewart is so special and we have three more seasons to enjoy it.

Me, too.

One of the great things about Stewie is she makes a play on offense, runs as hard as she can to get in defensive position, on defense makes a block, or steal, hurries to get in position, doesn't stop to make a spectacle of herself. She lets her game make the exclamation, not her antic's, she will get faster, stronger, better as she grows into her body, and understands the game and herself. We can all sit back ,and enjoy the ride. Geno said after the Final Four when asked about growing the women's game " There's a feeling that we have plateaued. And the interest level needs to come back, and maybe players like Stewie will help in accomplishing that. "

pap49cba thanks. Forgot he promised us this review. As he recognizes, it seems a bit effusive, but having watched the semi-final I have to agree with him. I also appreciate his cautionary note about how attitude will be of key importance. What I liked best about both the University Games and the U-19s was the confirmation to we U Conn fans that the step up we saw in the NCAAs from all 5 of our participants continued unabated in the world games.

Thanks for posting.
I really like this guys writing. He really looked at her game and wasn't overawed by the stats, but communicated the strength of her calm and poise.

IMO...what makes Stewie so great, in addition to incredible talent, is she doesn't care about being a Superstar. She doesn't care if you make the basket or she does, she is just as happy w/ an assist or a "high five" after the play. She doesn't care about stats, just winning. She has an unlimited drive to compete and win, without much of the ego that sometimes goes with that level of talent. And finally, she doesn't take herself too seriously.....Go Huskies..!!

Love your underlined comments, Stewie just keeps playing, when asked about being MOP, how it felt after National Championship " I appreciate it. I mean its nice. But, still, we just won a national championship, and I think that's the best thing. " That reinforces the idea all she cares about is winning.

St. Croix, Virgin Islands

Everyday, San Antonians thank God for Hurricane Hugo.
That's right, the Virgin Islands, not Jamaica. Brain fart.
