Pretty big free agency splash. It makes senses, as Gilmore is only 26 and is already a pro bowler. Also, at 6'1", he can cover bigger receivers. Logan Ryan is likely gone.

Surprising move, Gilmore was a pro bowler (as an alternate) last year but he gave up almost 16 yards a catch and has been okay, not great for the bulk of his career. Hard to question the Patriots since they usually always make good decisions but I would ratherpay Butler 14/15 mill a year than Gilmore.

Yes. I was interested to read that he's younger than Butler, despite being in the league longer. I think the size is a critical asset with all the big receivers out there. I don't think you can compare performance across systems. It's also worth noting that they burned a second rounder on Cyrus Jones, and Eric Rowe was a second rounder too. I think Bill believes he has something with those guys.

Interesting move I think that Pats should have the 2 headed monster at CB with Butler and Gilmore. Martellus Bennett just signed with GB btw.
