I knew that hire wasn't going to work out when they made the hire.Patriots fire Jerod Mayo after first season in New England post-Bill Belichick

What were his qualifications to be head coach? He was an inside linebackers coach.Mayo was put in an impossible situation. Inexperienced. Inexperienced assistants. Inexperienced GM. Very weak talent. What else did Kraft think was going to happen? Kraft should fire himself for doing all that.
He wasn’t ready but that’s not really true either. He designed the defensive game plans. Bill didn’t name a DC but Mayo and Steve B shared that job. Mayo designed the game plans and Steve called the plays in game. What were his qualifications to be head coach? He was an inside linebackers coach.
No because Ben Johnson is reportedly interested. Rooney rule means Flores will get an interview as well. You never wanna be the coach that replaces a legend you wanna be the coach that replaces the coach that replaced a legend. You would think there’s already some verbal agreement with Vrabel already.
He’s not wrong. It was an awful hire and the guys that were hired to bring in the “talent” were even worse. Time to bring in some adults. Kraft has lost a LOT off his fastball. He and Jerry Jones are giving case studies on how to destroy franchise value. What were his qualifications to be head coach? He was an inside linebackers coach.
Belichick ran the defense. He wasn’t ready but that’s not really true either. He designed the defensive game plans. Bill didn’t name a DC but Mayo and Steve B shared that job. Mayo designed the game plans and Steve called the plays in game.
Definitely needed to move on. Can’t waste Drake Maye’s rookie contract. Mayo was good for a gaffe or two every time he spoke. Just seemed unprofessional, the whole team seemed unprofessional. The defense got worse almost every week. It’s like they coached all the good traits out of them. No in game adjustments. They can do much better.
Well Bill said otherwise. Bill actually had to spend a lot of time on offense. But it's a moot point. Mayo wasn't ready, however big the jump was or wasn't. He hadn't been involved in all phases or in dealing with the media.Belichick ran the defense.
