PATRICK NGONGBA, TEAM TAKEOVER

Patrick Ngongba has a tremendous combination of size, length, and offensive skill. He stands just shy of 7-feet with ultra-broad shoulders and a big frame that gives him a significant presence on both ends of the floor.

He has soft hands and touch, that now extends out to the three-point line, and an inside-out offensive skill-set. He can provide a true back-to-the-basket scorer in the post, has a high release point around the paint, and the passing ability to punish double teams. He’s showing a growing passing instinct from other spots on the floor as well and can even deliver balls with both hands at this point. His developing ability to make spot-up threes only adds to his repertoire. Overall, Ngongba is an exceptionally efficient offensive player (70% FG in the EYBL regular season), but one who is showing more signs of being able to anchor a half-court offense down the road.

There's more but I didn't want to copy and paste the entire write up.

I don't understand how providence is getting into all these elite recruits final lists. They haven't accomplished anything and wasn't it stated that their NIL was terrible?

.-.

UConn: “I liked how involved with the practices the coaches are with the bigs. They had two coaches down there involved, guarding the players and taking them through the workouts. With Adama (Sanogo) and (Donovan) Clingan, seeing the centers that they’ve had recently plays a big role for me. Seeing what they can do for me individually helps with my decision a lot.”

Gotta capitalize on Sanogo and Clingan recent run to bring in more top bigs, this is the way

They're not seriously being considered.

Even looking at Whaley, Hurley has down a fantastic job with bigs.

I thought they weren’t necessarily a package deal. Did I miss the rumors?
Just husky99 saying they were in the Abraham thread. My comment was mostly tongue in cheek, I don't really think it's a package deal, even if we do end up with both

Their coach is younger than Steph Curry and a cool guy.

LOL, recruits just give mercy finalist spots to tiny catholic schools in the smallest state in the country. We have as much chance as you do here. Zero. Oh, and go fys. You know as much about this young man’s thought process as I do.

You are much angrier since Cooley left you. Have you considered therapy? It might help you work through your feelings.

I mean - you’re not seriously being considered, look at the schools up there, which one doesn’t belong? And we might not have a strong chance here, maybe close to zero - but we absolutely do not have the same chance as you do.

I get why PC fans hate us so much. English is going to pull in serious talent if he shows he can coach. He's already landed and retained some studs.

You're right, the Providence Friars have an equal chance to land a top recruit as the National Champion UConn Huskies. It's essentially a level playing field. Thank you for showing me the light.

Kim strikes me as a basketball version of Bob Diaco

The thing that really reeks on this board is absolute lies being treated as truths, just because. It’s been stated that PC’s NILis terrible? They were the first BE team to form a collective and it’s actually one of the better ones in the entire BE. Right now Creighton, and Marquette have the best (being run by former players help) PC’s is very good. People are jacked and pissed off and it’s showing with $.

Also, I agree we don’t know what we have with English but early returns are positive. Yesterday in the Athletic.

Agreed. He's good for Providence, but he hasn't proven anything to a recruit other than being young and likeable.

His teams finished 9th and 5th in the conference. Call me when he's dominating every season like Hurley.

Out of curiosity, on the PC board are there any posters who go above and beyond in negative discussions when it comes to UConn? I don't know for a fact but I would wager that there are some that do.

I wouldn't say "lies" about PC like the NIL comment (which was mentioned above by some poster as a question, not a statement...) are not treated as truths, rather no one here really cares enough to prove it right or wrong so they just carry on. That's what we have you here for
