Patrick Ewing Hired at Georgetown

From a PR perspective, this is a great hire. From a coaching perspective, who knows?

There might be one big man in the country at a time that wants to pattern his game after Ewing. Big men don't want to play post up anymore.

The kids being recruited today never saw Ewing play. I think the wow factor gets overplayed I think. What these high prospects care about is wether they believe the guy can get them ready for the NBA. The top 100 kids all believe they are NBA bound even though the numbers are impossible for that.

It might be overplayed but I think the majority of kids would know who Patrick Ewing is. I'm only about 4-5 years old than those kids are, and everyone my age knows who Ewing is. Although that might be a bad example because I grew up in NY
