Watch some film of our games from 3, 4, 5 years ago. Observe the OL. How they got off the ball and into the second level of the defense. Then watch the last two years and last year in particular. Pretty obvious why we were near the bottom of the country in rushing where we were typically at the top. When you can't run, defenses can run at your QB. It's as simple as that as far as I'm concerned.......and, yes, if your QB is Tom Brady he can make the reads and the throws......so all we need is Tom Brady. And I don't know if Edsall could have kept Frey in the fold, but he sure as hell would not have McCombs carrying the ball 20-30 times a game and going down every time a DLman farted.

Honestly, P gave GDL the reins of the offense and he completely and utterly ducked things up. I really think P signed his own buyout after next season leaving GDL with the OL. Hope I'm wrong.

Looks like the national sportwriters don't agree with the local sportswriters assessment of the team.

The local guys thought and wrote UConn played to its talent level.

Siding with the national media this time? Guess they were wrong about Edsall.

Even a blind squirrel stumbles across and acorn now and again.

That almost reads as an admission you were wrong. I'm sure it's mistyped.

Relax guys. Pasqualoni still sucks compared to whatever Edsall was.

The truth laid bare. They had incredible talent on one side of the ball. Even a mediocre offense gets us to 8-4, 9-3. The problem is on the sidelines. The cow tow local media is a joke. They are more interested in access than accessing the truth.

Since this staff has been here they have tried to get QB's, OL's (+ tried starting a 1st year player), TE's and WR's to play right away via JC, transfer and one year eligible players. FB needs to be competative this year too.

Last year was so flippin' frustrating.

Games that we lost that we needed one more scoring drive:
NC State: 10-7
Western Michigan: 30-24 (this one I put more on the D for giving up 30 points though)
Temple: 17-14
USF: 13-6 (technically we needed more than one more scoring drive but c'mon, this was USF!)

Coulda, woulda, shoulda been 9-3 last year and pounding Va Tech in the Russell Athletic Bowl or WVU in the Pinstripe Bowl. By pounding, I mean tough defense and a few scoring drives. 17-10.

Of course, you could give MD, Buff, Pitt and Louisville one more scoring drive they needed and the record is coulda, woulda, shoulda been 1-11, the "reality" is 5-7 and still watching the bowl games from home again.

Think MAC

If a certain PK didn't have his head up his a.. for the Temple game, we go bowling. He actually is pretty good. Just not that game.

Every MAC team, with the exception of UMass, was ranked higher in total offense than we were last year. I refuse to believe all those MAC teams have better talent on offense than we do.

Could be the defense they were facing as well. I would think UCONN's offense would do better facing a MAC schedule. We did light up UMASS after all.

UCONN absolutely should have had a better offense. Unfortunately, I don't think it would be more than 25-30 spots higher (which, by the way, still should have gotten us to a bowl game!!!!)

As bad as offense was it was good enough to beat NCST. They were coached into that loss. The Temple game was a joke. That's 7-5 right there.
