100% agree, The perception of UConn football from media/fan/conference perspective has obviously taken a significant dip from the BCS bid and the perception then that made HCRE one of the hottest coaches in the country.

You mean the perception that UConn was a joke and was final, definitive proof that the BCS wasn't working? Well, uh, yeah, I guess so. But still. Not great.

BCS comments or not. There was one story after another about UConn's meteoric rise and the fastest successful jump from 1-AA. What are they saying about us now?

Fire coach Pasqualoni pronto! And try to persuade ex NFL coach and Hartford native Eric Mangini to leave ESPN and come to take the UCONN HC position. I could vision a great turn around for the better up there in Storrs.

I literally cried laughing at this.....for a person that spews hate about our current head coach, clearly delusional about who are next head coach possibly could be

***huge face slam***

Okay, I'll bite on this thread because I feel like I need to get my thoughts on record. I think Pasqualoni is a good coach. I might be one of the very few people on this board (or in the entirety of Husky Nation) that would like him to stay. In my opinion, he has mainly suffered from two things; the inability to understand when to call a timeout, and the inability to see that one of his best friends was letting a philosophy dictate a roster rather than letting a roster dictate a philosophy. But here is what he does very well:

1) Pasqualoni understands defenses extremely well.
2) He recruits very well.
3) He has a very good demeanor, and I think he treats the players like they are grown-ups (which maybe explains why he is a good recruiter).

It finally seems, at least to some degree, that he is correcting one of his two major flaws. We all will get to see to what degree it gets corrected. But I am more than comfortable with him at the helm...

(now let the UConnDan97 bashing begin!)

Thinking like this is why we aren't allowed to have nice things.

Ahh leave Dan alone he's a nice Italian boy

I'm absolutely clear what I think about Paul Pasqualoni. But, I don't like putting negative opinions on this board near the Signing Date. I want a solid UConn team.

That TCU, UofL and Boise are better models.

Except they are Comparables.

UL & TCU have played Bigtime football for decades. They were in Big Games when we were playing UNH. We came from Trailers ... don't you know. I think we got passed in rounds because of our Youth. Boise? Where are they taking it? I think they have limited chance for the Pac12 to grab them.

I agree! He hasn't done squat lately on the recruiting trail...

(I hear we'll be adding Chasz Wright pretty soon to Lemelle and Fuchs, just in case it wasn't clear that I was being sarcastic)

You think you do more with ironic photos than me, you pretentious little ? Think again....

Oops! Sorry. Wrong thread...;)

You put out a bunch of strange posts late last night. How much hasheesh did you take in over there in New Britain?

Have you come back down to earth yet?

The recruiting had been encouraging. But I stopped following the recruiting scene closely a few years ago for good reason.

Okay, I'll bite. Why did you stop following the recruiting scene?

I think it's pointless. And personally I always felt weird hanging on the decisions of 18 year olds. I prefer to look at it on signing day, and then I look at who shows up at school. That's really as far as I go.

I did actually follow Richard Lagow on Twitter. The kid clearly wants to be heard and he is a character. I did see his Dad's post on the recruiting board yesterday, and I think we were lucky to find a QB that was looking to go to a place to make a difference and not just take the path most taken.

I'm going to say because it disproved all his theories...."out of sight, out of mind"

Oh you wish.

I stopped following when it seemed weird. I also stopped following when I was deployed 2 out of 3 years late in the Edsall tenure. I was too busy to pay attention.

I thought you were referring more to the fact that you weren't following the signing classes anymore. I hear you about following the minute-to-minute action for the verbals; sometimes that gets a little too much. But I think that most people are pretty enthusiastic about this year's verbals, and certainly Lagow is lighting up the board with his pro-UConn chatter. He even has many of the other recruits fired up as well. Can't help but feel good about that...

We've needed a guy like him to do something like that for years. P gets credit for finding him. And I don't need to wear P Colored glasses to see that. The next head coach will be really appreciative:P

So you think this kid will be able to redshirt five times in a row? The NCAA may protest...

"P Colored glasses" ------->

Isn't that Cincy's QB from a few years ago? I think he just asked for an 11th year of eligibility.
