Parking Weirdness at The Rent

What was up with the general admission parking at The Rent? It looks like they tried to split everybody up. It was a huge pain for us to meetup with our tailgating buddies because they seemed to just randomly have people split into various sub-lots. The people we met up with had to specifically ask to drive over to our lot, which had a surprisingly small number of people.

Is this the plan going forward? Lots of smaller tailgating lots?

I thought it was a little weird. I got so used to just going down the tarmac, and then they just split everyone up where they wanted to. If I had known I was going to have to walk further to get to the stadium (but I did get out in record time) I would have parked across the street.
