Parking at xl center

I like to park in the garage on Trumbull Street near Salute restaurant a little south of Pearl Street. For me it is pretty easy in and out along Bushnell Park and away from the downtown traffic. It is $10. Probably a five minute walk to the arena so if there are concerns in that area you would want something closer like one of the open air lots to the west of the arena on Ann Uccello Street.

After three years of attending games there and winging it on parking, I decided to park closest to the entrance that was nearest to my seats. Said another way, I've parked all over because I never planned ahead, so I applaud you for asking!

First, what section are you in? See chart below with street names and the three entrances I've used - there might be other entrances for season & premium ticket holders.

Then knowing the entrance you will use search garages or lots that are closest to that entrance and see their rates. Two sites I've used are LAZ Parking and ParkWhiz, links below. I believe that the City of Hartford Parking Authority has lots around as well, and street parking is usually free on weekends if you get there early enough.

Zoom in/out of the above maps to see parking lot options and which ones have the shortest walk to the entrance of your choice. If you get to the area at least an hour before tipoff then parking is usually easy to get, less so when you get there around game time.

We have always parked with LAZ Parking on Allen St (I think) next to the large church (not across). It has been 10.00 as long as we have had season tickets. Last Sunday when we parked the guy charged us 15.00 stating “it has been $15 for two years and that is an old sign”. Out of curtesy to the people behind us we paid it but I called the office and sent in a email. It is a week later and have not heard from anyone. I think the employee pocketed $5 a car. Annoyed with the whole thing and the fact the office has not responded. I will be finding a new parking spot.

To ensure domestic tranquility I parked in the closest open air lot at the corner of Ann and Church for $20. There were open air lots just a little bit further for $10, but you know the domestic tranquility thing.

I used to park in the open air lot across the street from Duncan Donuts stadium. About 1 block from PBA/XL. Not so long ago it was $5, then $10. Alas, that lot is gone now. I avoid parking garages because they are evil.

I used the parking app Park Wiz and book ahead, often saving big bucks.
You know I've never done this in Hartford, but I do it all the time in the city. It's definitely easier and does save you money.
