What does parity look like? When 8 of the 12 WNBA teams have winning records. Why? Every team has great, not just good, players sitting on the bench. The argument against expansion is that the current teams aren’t bringing in enough money. But the WNBA will never achieve that until more people are exposed to their product, until more people have a local team to root for. That’s the catch-22.

I agree. There are so many fantastic players in the league that virtually every team is very strong. And that makes for a league without a "Wow!" factor. No super teams. And with each really good player deciding for herself whether to play or not (salary not a big factor), and where to play (with the threat that they'll simply take the summer off if they're desire for a trade is ignored), it means that the product for the fan is subpar.
