I'm trying to remember if any of Paige's missed shots didn't hit the rim. Every player on UConn has shot at least one air ball, but I can't remember if she has had a air ball.

To pass Maya would need to avg 34.3/28.1/25.8 ppg.
Lobo 29.6/24.2/22.2

KLS . 4.3/ 3.5/ 3.3

3 point shooting = 53.7%, 3rd best in NCAA, but less than 0.1 pt out of 1st

 
Good for her teammates to see that she is human. CW in particular has picked it up dramatically. In the long run, Paige should aim for 20 pts / 10 assists as the optimal targets with her teammates playing to their own potential. And maybe less than 40 minutes a game.
 
Let's not forget Paige hurt her ankle again today, which may have affected her shooting.
 
The points are not so important when I see Paige rolled her ankle again and again. I really feel hurt and worried.

The thing that is amazing is that we still have this being discussed in a season where there will be at least 10 less games than normal being played. Makes it hard to break records for total anything in a year.
 
Paige passed KLS and Rebecca to move into 9th place on the freshman scoring list. She has 419 points.
Next up: CW at 443

Her 3 pt shooting percentage is now 48.1%

I believe Paige actually has 473 points in 24 games for a 19.7 avg.
 
So, for ease of everyone, next up is #4 Brianna Stewart at 497. Here's the average Paige needs for E8 (4g) FF (5g) and Title game (6) for here to tie/pass everyone:
#4 Stewart 497 pts--------------------6.0; 4.8; 4.0
#3 Svetlana Abrosimova 538 pts----16.3;13.0;10.8
#2 Kaleena Moscato Lewis 569 pts--24.0;19.2;16.0

2-4 are well within reach. Maya, not so much

Collier and Samuelson would have traded being highest scoring teammates in UConn history for 1 more NC in last 3 seasons. (Not blaming anyone. Not spoiled.)

I never expect UConn to win every NC. But I would not be disappointed if PB helped UConn win 1+ NC during her career.

Yeah, but if she just gets anywhere near Maya the "short season argument" as to the best career will be discussed in long threads 20 years from now.
 
In a COVID shortened season PPG is the real stay, not total points.

Yes, but media guide/record book doesn’t have PPG categories. Only total points.

That's fine with Bueckers because she is more happy blowing the assist record into pieces despite the season and playing 2 guard. In an interview when the two of them were asked how they imagined having the ball in their hands with 5 seconds left and either tied or down in a big game. Azzi said it was always this or that move and a swish. Bueckers also described a move but then a behind the back pass to a now-open Fudd who nails the game winner.
How's that for friendship and trust?

If not mistaken, PB has the opportunity to play "5" seasons, as do many other WCBB players. Not that she would.

Maya's name is all over pages 65 and 66 of the 2020-21 UConn Media Guide. Single season records and career records. Several of BYers place Maya third on UConn's Mount Rushmore, since she won "only" 2 NC.

PB still has opportunity to join Stewie, Moriah, and Tuck with 4-peat. Or join Taurasi with 3-peat. Time will tell. No matter number of NC won, PB is already UConn legend.

Unless I've screwed up my spreadsheet again, Paige up to 563 points, just 6 behind KML for 2nd all-time for Frosh. Only 115 behind Maya. I think it's doable. :)

I believe Paige has 565 points and would need 35 over two games to have a 20.0 average.
 
Instead of tracking points, can we track award counts? :D
 
Paige is now above 20 ppg (20.1), but below 6 apg (5.9). Can she catch Sue and Crystal?
