I follow family tradition by reading "Readers Digest" and Paige Bueckers was quoted in the quotable quotes section with a reference to the hard work that folks don't tend to see.

Reading the WNBA Q&A in today's Athletic, Maya Moore got a mention as the writer's favorite all time WNBA player, calling her a "one of one" talent.

Way to go, Paige. You are definitely RD material.

(I'm dating myself, but the Readers Digest was always present in my childhood home and was read thoroughly. This was before television when magazines like Life, Look and National Geographic plus the radio were the outlets to the world. With the internet, we are so much more informed of what is going on in Sri Lanka and the rest of the world. When my iPhone rings I sometimes wish we were back in those simpler times listening to Dragnet, Amos 'n' Andy going to a Red Ryder double features on Saturdays at the local movie and when we all rode bicycles without helmets! We've come a long way, baby, and with AI we and our progeny are looking at a completely different world for sure. Wonder if Readers Digest will have articles written by AI. Probably already does. Gotta go. My iPhone just beeped.)

What is Paige’s quote?

Paige also has cameo in the promo for “Naked Gun” starring Liam Nesson as Frank Drebin. I believe the commercial is on ESPN.

I recycled the mag before I thought of posting.

The gist was that people appreciate the scoring and not the hard work that goes into it. I tried to find it on line, but I'm not that adept at it. Sorry.
KBAZ - great memories from RD. I remember decades ago submitting tidbits for their consideration without success.

Do you have a sense of when the issue was dated?

Reader's Digest was kind of like the Internet back in the day compiling articles from multiple sites and adding some humorous quotes.

The Reader's Digest is still a thing? I go past their site on the Saw Mill Parkway on occasion and there's very little traffic in and out of there. Not like the old days when their traffic would sometimes clog the Parkway. Maybe they moved?

I believe I heard they moved, or at least now only occupy a small part of the headquarters building. I believe a good chunk of it is now luxury apartments.

August/September 2025 issue. If you are an Apple One bundle subscriber which includes Apple’s News app, Readers Digest is included as one of the free newspapers/periodicals.

The Digest, as we called it (I grew up there) left and in its place is a Whole Foods and an arts center. The road is still called Reader's Digest Road, however.
I used to work for QSP (the school fundraising subsidiary of RD) and loved working in that building. Was not so fond of the commute, though so I was only there a few years in the late 90's.

The former headquarters of Readers Digest in Chappaqua NY with its iconic red brick building on a 100+ acre campus has been redeveloped into an apartment complex with retail and commercial spaces.

Can't the building be seen from the Sawmill Parkway on the right going towards I684?

Yes that red brick building at the intersection of Readers Digest Road and the Sawmill Parkway looks the same on the outside as it did when it was the HQ for Readers Digest for so many years but now instead of offices it is an apartment complex. (RD now has their HQ offices split between NYC and White Plains.)

Thank you. I saw the mention of on-line availability. I actually get the actual magazine, the only "paper" subscription I have. I do get a number of magazines due to donations - National Trust, US Lighthouse Society, Colonial Williamsburg (I stopped donating to Williamsburg, but they keep sending). Plus newsletters, of course.

Sadly, the day of magazines is largely past. Even my daily newspaper I read on line now-days.
