Last week Paige showed up at the Colorado - TCU game. This week Paige is at the Red River Rivalry game between Oklahoma & Texas at the Cotton Bowl, endearing herself to Longhorn fans by flashing the Hook-em horns sign during an interview with Holly Rowe.

This follows visits earlier this year to a Dallas Stars hockey game and to a Texas Rangers baseball game where Paige threw out the first pitch.

Paige is on course to become the most popular human being in the Lonestar state. 🤠

Pick a state, any state, send Paige there and within a year she'll be the most popular person in that state. She has that knack.

These are near flawless human beings Geno gets to work with. Boggles the mind
Seeing so much Azzi stuff it reveals to me how locked in she is.

Paige has demonstrated time and again that she knows how to work a room. Also, as Texas gets to know her the populace will get to know the genuine person she is, which has a way of acting like a supercharger.

Paige is doing what many WNBA players should be. Rather than just demand higher pay, she understands the need to generate greater revenues thorough out the league and is taking action. The WNBA needs many stars to reach its goals and Paige's activity will benefit all players.

I strongly suspect that Paige’s frequent appearances at Dallas sports venues are fueled by the Wings PR department, along with Paige’s agent. I’m certain that she never pays for a ticket.

In fact, if Paige shows up at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse in Dallas, and orders the Prime Tomahawk Steak, priced at $145, I’ll bet she gets comped by the manager. What restaurant in their right mind doesn’t want Paige “freakin” Bueckers showing up as often as possible for dinner….. 😎

I was thinking along the same lines. Paige isn't just in Dallas to collect a paycheck. As with anywhere she goes, she's investing in the community. How many other WNBA players spend significant chunks of their offseasons where they play?

Dallas is an okay city, but I imagine it's a bit of culture shock for someone who grew up in Minnesota and went to college at UConn. But rather than hightailing it outta there as soon as the season's over, she's embracing it and learning more about it.

The Wings lucked out in maneuvering to get Paige as its foundational first round pick.

Some online chatter attributed part of the reason why some players requested a trade out of the Wings is that the Wings’ owner is diametrically opposite of the Tsai’s of the NY Liberty. There is no “field of dreams” investing, rather investing from cues by the market.

The Wings also lucked out by the City of Dallas specfically picking the Wings as the prime vehicle to revitalize its downtown. Hence, the Wings lucked out in getting a new practice arena for 2026 and a year-delayed larger (10,000-capacity) playing arena in 2027.

Paige’s joie de vivre star power is the rising tide for the City of Dallas and the Wings — in a city where the Wings are usually an afterthought with its year-round sporting event attractions.
