Paige Daily Video Allotment

I really don't want to rain on anyone's parade but the furthur you allow your hopes to go up that ladder the longer the drop down. I know the tapes are great and the awards are numerous but please, lets let any freshman play at least a quarter before debating uniform numbers, much less national championships.

As good as she is what got me hooked when I saw her as a HS sophomore was her attitude and demeanor on the court. Total team involvement. Never saw her flinch under pressure. And she plays with joy and abandon.
Until Bueckers came along I was just like you.

You do understand that there are different body types? Ectomorph, endomorph, mesomorph? You get what you get. You can add or subtract some weight and certainly add conditioning and strength. Remember she got the nickname Olive Oyl for a reason .

Maybe a few meals at Geno’s restaurant and some weight training will remedy that.
A few? I warned everyone that Geno's two major complaints and goading points will be her defense and her conditioning. No doubt he will harp on those all year.

Compared to what she looked like as a sophomore she is a virtual Charles Atlas today. :D

Yeah, well. Going from 1 to 2 doubles your value, yes?

If I were a betting man, I would say that Geno issues her uniform # 11 (as he will never give out #1 to any player)

That was my understanding. I remember reading that here in the yard. Can’t remember when or who posted it that Geno does not allow anyone to wear number 1.

Sophomore game from 2018 in which Hopkins destroys undefeated rival Wayzata.

Paige has a huge first half and ends up with 28 points (11-20 FG, 3/4 3-PT), 9 assists, and 6 steals.

Here's a second helping. One reason I think that Bueckers will have a relatively easy transition to college ball is the things she learned playing for Cosgriff. Watch the Hopkins players in their defensive stances, just like Geno preaches. And they play aggressive basketball, whether on offense or defense. This was a state tournament game where you get in by winning your conference tournament so the opponent here may look weak but they weren't.

Love how Paige drives to basket, keeping ball high and using her body to move the defender and get room to shoot. Hope she can teach Anna this move.

As a curiosity, were there any AAU team mates of Paige that were at an elite level?

She played on North Tartan, a team of mostly Hopkins players, although Bueckers played with some of them last summer on Metro Stars. There are several Hopkins players that will play D1 basketball and IMO it really helped Bueckers hone her skills as a facilitator.
