My lack of parsing will be unpopular, but they are celebrities that also happen to be athletes (as far as public attention and social media are concerned). This is also where their love-lives come into play.

This is more readily seen with the oft-injured gymnast Olivia Dunne and her relationship with Paul Skenes. No one cares about pitchers or gymnast's love lives, but they do care about who celebrity Olivia Dunne is dating when that person is also a talented pitcher.

For what it’s worth, Paige’s choice in clothes has nothing to do with you and me. She is often seen in clothes and sporting accessories that she is getting paid a bunch to wear by Stock-X and various “high-end” brands that are designed to appeal to the biggest clothes buying demographic in the world, American 18 to 20-something females.

I would probably wear a burlap sack if someone paid me 7 figures to do so…… Beyond that, I think Paige has always been comfortable as a tomboy, sporting casual clothing.
