In the early game Oregon is crushing Colorado 45-18 at the half. Ionescu and Hebard have been fairly quiet, which is kinda scary for potential Ducks opponents. Bando and Sabally are knocking down 3s. Cazorla is playing well. McGwire is hitting mid range jumpers.

Text book ball movement and execution on fast breaks.
71-20 with 4min to go in the 3rd Q

I recently read somewhere that some people are referring to them as the UConn of the West.

Ionescu does have 9 assists in the first 20 minutes, that's impressive. Hebard was only 1-3 from the floor, that's hard to believe. She did get a bucket to start Q3.

Uhh....wow. They've had a good season. That's quite a stretch though. They've been relevant for about 5 minutes historically speaking. Stanford has been THE program out West for most of the last 25 years or so. Oregon St. has been vastly superior to Oregon in recent years, until this year. Oregon finished 1 1/2 games ahead of Stanford and 2 games ahead of UCLA and Oregon St. in the conference standings this year, so that's not even close to dominating the league.

Bando is on fire! Ducks aren't letting up even slightly to start the 2nd half. 60-20 3 minutes into the quarter, CU forced to burn a TO. Bando is 6-9 behind the arc and Sabally is 4-6. When those 2 are hot they are really tough to beat.

.-.
What Oregon has done since Coach Kelly has arrived is considered to be in line of what Geno did with UConn when he started there.

Put Ionescu on triple double watch--8 pts 6 rebounds 11 assists.

Wow. Does somebody who wrote that think that they have won 11NCs? Or even 1?

He has done a really good job turning the program around. Take a look at how bad Oregon St. was when Rueck took over and what he's done there. Oregon and Graves still have quite a ways to go to match that.

71-20 (26-2 in Q3) w/ 4 minutes left still. UO 12-22 behind the arc (all but 1 from Bando/Sabally). Ionescu has 13 assists.

Oregon goes to the bench and Colorado goes on a 9-4 run.

.-.
Ionescu goes to the bench, needs 2 more rebounds for triple double #10.

77-33 after 3 quarters. Lydia Giomi entered the game briefly for Oregon and had to leave w/ a foot or ankle injury. Not sure if that is the same foot that kept her out of most of last season.

Starters have sat out the entire 4th quarter. Ducks have only scored 11 points in the last 11 minutes. Still leading 82-42. Bando is two 3's away from setting Oregon career record and also Pac 12 Tournament career record.

Oregon is like UConn.....their bench isn't very good. Got outscored 14-7 in the 4th quarter.

UCLA leads Cal 34-29 at the half.
Kristine Anigwe got her first basket of the game just before the half ended.
CJ West for Cal is playing a good game, but she got her 3rd foul in the 2nd quarter. She also looks gassed at times.
UCLA shooting under 30% at the half, Cal shooting 44% difference is FT's UCLA has made 9 of 12 and Cal 3 of 7

Cal leads 55-53 after 3

Weirdest thing was Anigwe looked to collapse in the quarter after being fouled. The thing is she looked fine after the foul and then collapsed into her teammates arms. She was able to walk, or stagger off, then came back about 2 minutes later.

.-.
62-60 Cal w/ about 6 minutes left. Cal was up 7 a few moments ago. Canada went to the locker room briefly and returned wearing a sleeve on one arm. Anigwe still out. Only 1 player for UCLA has hit 3, Hayes, but she has 5 of them today.

Anigwe collapsed again after getting to the bench after her 4 th foul.

Anigwe collapsed again after getting to the bench after her 4 th foul.

That looked awful to me. I am wondering if she has a concussion?

UCLA is capitalizing on Cals misfortune.

That's scary, I hope Anigwe is okay.

And-1 for Kianna Smith, tied at 65. 4:32 left.

.-.
Anigwe fouls out about 30 seconds later.

Tied at 69 w/ 2 minutes left, UCLA shooting FTs.

UCLA is missing FTs but getting second chance points. Now up 72-69.

74-69 UCLA w/ 37.5 sec left. Cal needing a miracle at this point.

I think the point was about style of play (offensively), not domination. But Oregon should be better next year, and quite strong the year after as well. The real test longevity-wise, imo, will come after that. Also, if I'm not mistaken, this is Oregon's third Pac1 10/12 WBB title, which ties them with OSU over the same period, with only Stanford having (a lot) more. They were actually a fairly strong program in the late 90s and into this century with two Pac 10 titles in a row (one shared in 1998-99 and one outright in 1999-2000). UO then fired the WBB coach (Jody Runge) due to player complaints about abusive behavior (sort of a forerunner of what seems much more common today) and there were two bad coaching appointments in a row--actually one bad appointment based on nostalgia (Bev Smith, who hold most of the WBB records at Oregon) and one disastrous appointment (have blocked out his name) based on the whim of an interim athletic director who only paid attention to football, men's basketball, and his bone-headed desire to restart baseball. Graves is a different story,
