We don't have anyone to lob to. It doesn't look all that pretty because we don't get out and run and we don't dunk but the offensive system is fine in terms of moving the ball, we're always great at that but we don't get all the cutting layups like we used to. In those earlier January Big East close wins we were shooting really bad but we were playing great D, now our shooting has come around and we're playing terrible D. The offense isn't the problem, we're 9th in the country in assists. We're never good at getting to the ft line under Hurley but it's a giant problem now, we aren't getting free points. We hardly ever get to the line and when we do it's mostly Tarris getting there and he's a terrible ft shooter. The player - coach dynamic has a very weird vibe this year. In ways it feels like an extension of last year. Collective IQ doesn’t seem like it’s there to process and run the system consistently. Missing so much from what that 24 team did so beautifully. The lobs we’ve talked about, the Clingan passing from the perimeter. Finding cutters.
Maybe Hurley is still running vanilla stuff to save the good for March.
