She actually has 5 kits. They just started coming out in the evening. Very low light shooting, sorry for the image quality.

I love fox kits. They are very playful. I used to stop and watch them play when walking my dog. They would roll down a hill and run back to the top and roll down again. It was hysterical. Of course my dog was was waiting for me to let her go after them. She sat and watched but was tense and ready the whole time.

We had a fox family in the woods behind our house several years ago. I would put out table scraps most evenings and they began to come regularly to see what was for dinner. We would sit on the back porch in the dark quietly and watch them come and go. When the female had her kits, she began to bring them to the feast and let them eat while we watched from 50 feet away. It was quite an enjoyable spring and early summer. Then people moved into the neighboring house where the skulk lived in the backyard, and they "skulked" off into the deep woods. We still see them occasionally, but the nightly shows are a thing of the past.

Here is another - the kits show up a little better. They are right above their den in this image. She has several 'holes' dug into the side of a 'dry water course' that is about 10' deep.
For those that care: shot with 400mm f2.8 with 1.4 extender at f4.0, iso 3200, 1/500 from about 60 yards away.

Our dog's fence goes well into the woods and is about 100' from the den. When everyone is out its a real staring contest.

We have a trail cam set up to spy on our fox den. No kits yet but have had some for several years now.
Also pick up interesting visitors, including coyotes and deer. We had a fawn living in with our goats for almost a year before he realized that he could jump over the fencing, just like his mother did.
