one thing i will have to disagree with slightly is that this season was "better than most had hoped for". we were #4 in the preseason polls. we were ranked as high as #2. ended up #3 or #4 depending on how you looked at our losses to ND. Duke, Miami, and Maryland were all distant starting at 5th in the polls.
even with UCONN's 2 losses to ND, we didn't drop down to #5. that means to me that the pollsters still felt UCONN was one of the top 4 teams in the nation. even after our loss to SJU, we only dropped to #4.
so yeah, i was expecting a final 4. i thought we were one of the 4 best teams in the nation. we were a whisker of beating ND 67-65 and going to the NC game. if we'd made the NC game, i'd say we over achieved.
having said that, i think the BY theme song should be
