he plays. Since he is now a 4 year player, he has at most 33 games left in his career. Now is the time to see what he can do and we have a softer part of the schedule coming up. He should have never played last year. That was a gross injustice to Tim and the fans.

What we saw from Chandler yesterday was his A game. He is not going to get demonstrably better. Start CW, play Tim in the 2nd quarter and make a freaking decision for the 2nd half, based on performance.

He still has a redshirt year available. 5 years to play 4.

Here's the skinny.

Whitmer, nice story that he came back and has been a terrific teammate. We have seen what he is. You can't win with him.

Boyle, he does things that make you want to see more.... than the WR drops the ball. Better to find out if he is the guy in 2014 rather than next year. He passes the eye test.

Casey, we hardly got to know you. Tough break, all the best as you move forward.

Bottom line. Redshirting Boyle is done. Not going to happen. Redshirting him next year means you start a juco or a true freshman or the transfer player with no experience? Boyle has to be the starter pretty soon.

Yep - and CW should do the smart thing and retire. He has to play behind that line anymore he will get concussed.

Let Boyle get banged around and learn the ropes.

Redshirting Boyle at any point in the future (shy of an injury) won't fly as it would basically be him voluntarily placing himself behind Shirreffs for the season he does redshirt and into the following training camp.

My guess is that over the next two plus games we will work Boyle in more and more until he is ready to run the show.

Boyle still has a redshirt available to him, but realistically it doesn't make sense unless he tears his ACL, has Tommy John Surgery, or suffers some other year long injury.

And yes, I think he should get more playing time going forward. I think he give UConn the best chance to win.
