Arizona St. is jumping all over Cal to start the game 14-0. ASU really could use a win here, they've been fading.

Washington St. leading UCLA early 16-13. I'm gonna go ahead and predict this one stays close, but the Cougs can't finish and UCLA pulls out a win (seen that happen a few times...)

USC thumping Washington 59-41 early in the 4h quarter

Arizona @ Stanford is at 5 pm PST.

Arizona State holds Cal to 28% shooting and wins in Berkeley, 57-42.
Courtney Ekmark posts a near-double-double with 12 and 8.

UCLA gets 19 points from Jordin Canada and a 15/15 game from Monique Billings to beat WSU, 79-71, in Pullman (where the Bruins were upset last year).

"Bobi Buckets" (Borislava Hristova) scores 25 points for the Cougs.

Washington State has suffered a ton of single-digit losses and just can't seem to come up with the goods down the stretch.

I called that one. WSU was up as much as 8 in the 2nd quarter, but they just don't finish games very well. And there's a big talent gap.

USC 72
Washington 61

Sadie Edwards scored 26.

Ha. We were typing simultaneously. You scooped me by mere moments.

.-.
Thanks to ASU, OSU now finds themselves all alone in 4th place. There was a 4 way logjam a couple weeks ago. Oregon still in the lead 1 game up on UCLA, Stanford just starting out against Arizona and trying to keep pace w/ UCLA.

Stanford is raining 3's (5-8), up 16-4. McPhee has scored 7 already.

Dang. Stanford is 7-11 behind the arc (0-4 inside the arc), 4 different players have hit one so far. Up 22-8 approaching the end Q1.

Fools gold. After such a hot start, Stanford missed 7 3's in a row before finally hitting another one. Still leading comfortably 33-16. Kiana Williams (11) and Marta Sniezek (8) have already exceeded their season scoring averages, and it's not halftime yet.

43-16 Stanford at halftime. Not sure who is more devoid of talent--Arizona or Washington. Cardinal are 10-22 behind the arc. They're hitting them, but I'm not sure that Tara really wants them taking that many. McPhee now leading the way w/ 12 points on 4-5 FG.

Alanna Smith w/ 8 quick points to start Q3, now she's in double figures.

66-29 Stanford after 3Q. It's kinda hard to believe this is the same team that was struggling so badly at the beginning of the season. They finished the quarter w/ the all headband team. 4 of the 5 on the floor were rockin' a headband.

Now they are pounding the ball in the paint. Smith scored 12 of her 15 points in the quarter.

.-.
Stanford has gone to the deep reserves for the entire 4th quarter, maintaining the margin. Dodson and Wilson (Russell's little sister) have looked good.

79-42 final. And that's a wrap for the day.
