There are just a bunch of interesting games going on. Iowa-West Virginia was tied after Q1, but WVU has blitzed them 31-9 in Q2. Wow!

Texas A&M up big on Arkansas St., Chennedy Carter has 19 at halftime.

Oregon over California Riverside 94-44 at the St. Mary's Thanksgiving classic. 5 in double figures, led by Hebard with 19 (8-9) and Sabally with 17 (7-9). Freshman guard Chavez had 6 assists.

What a strange game. WVU outscored Iowa 31-12 in Q2 but Iowa has turned the tables in Q4 24-8. Q1 and Q3 were fairly even. Iowa up 2, under a minute left.

84-81 Iowa final.
West Virginia coughed up a huge lead in this game. When I checked the score in the 3rd quarter they were up by like 20.

I just saw the Michigan- Missouri score. Not what I expected.

Did you not see Missouri lose at home to Green Bay? They’re just not very good.

Yes I saw that whole game and Sophie has no help and the way she is going she may not be a 1st round choice. She doesn’t look good so far. Mich 41 Mizz 17. 3 qu. Sophie 1-6

Stanford was only up 4 at halftime against Florida-Gulf Coast, but ended up winning by 23. Team was 11-22 behind the arc, they're shooting the ball really well this year. Fingall led the way w/ 24 points (11-14 FG) 8 reb 5 assists. Has to be the best game of her career.

Sophie looks and plays hurt. Something is definitely up with her.

Baylor has their hands full w/ South Dakota St. Up 51-49 early in Q4. Wow.

Baylor 68-66 w/ 20 seconds left. 28 points for Cox, didn't get much help. Is anybody truly elite this year? Not really looking like it so far.

SDSU is 12-32 behind the arc, Baylor 4-11. The great equalizer.

Kiana Williams may be the best pg from that class

Is anybody truly elite this year? My take: WBB finally becoming national sport. More young girls are playing BBall at an early age and the pool of recruits is becoming larger and better. It is good for the game, BRING IT ON!

Games mentioned makes me feel better about Uconn's close game.Have to give St. Johns credit..Were not intimidated..very well coached and played great defense

Actually 'dawg participation in basketball is fallings with volleyball on the rise. I have no doubt you are right about more better players however.

" Two years ago, for the first time, more high school girls played volleyball (432,176) than basketball (429,504), according to the National Federation of State High School Associations. In 2015-16, volleyball added another 4,133 girls to those numbers, while basketball lost 276 participants.

Examine the past decade, and the numbers are more striking. Statistics compiled by the NFHS show an increase of more than 40,000 volleyball players in that span and a decrease of 23,000 basketball players.

"There's been a huge African-American crossover into our sport, and it's become the social norm now to play volleyball, whereas 10 or 15 years ago, it was basketball," Texas coach Jerritt Elliott said. "It appeals not just to the super tall but the super small. The super small has a niche with the libero and the [defensive specialist] position where they can find success at a very high level."

Why young athletes are flocking to volleyball, not basketball, in record numbers

Sophie has help. She just did not get it in that game. There is a guard/forward named Amber who is a good player. It's easy to guard a team that has only two really good players. MU lost their two best rebounders, including C. Porter, whose family has a history of leg problems. Her oldest sister could not finish her career, a brother, Michael, who was projected to be the number one NBA draft choice last season, played only two or three games, and then her brother Jontay, is lost for the season with a leg injury. I believe they were all knee injuries.

Hey Rocky, there are a number of 6'6" to 6'8" players playing volleyball instead basketball. I read that report when it first came out. My favorite team is Penn State. They talent and coaching reminds me of UConn's women's basketball program.

Great spectator sport. Very popular here with a lot of club/jr programs.

The Volleyball popularity in SoCal has eclipsed basketball. It has definitely affected the talent pool in California and the belief is that now that more African American girls are becoming interested in volleyball, the basketball participation level and thus, skill and athletic level will continue to sink.

That is a surprise to me. In my neighborhood, the Deep South, just about every middle school and high school has a girl’s basketball team. I do not follow volleyball but I do watch local sports shows, girl’s basketball gets decent coverage, volleyball, Boy’s or girl’s, almost none. Maybe it is a regional thing.

Ok call it help if you want but that supporting cast is dreadful

Or you can go to BYU, where 6’7” Sara Hamson does both. BYU has (had? after a recent loss) the #1 VB team in the country. I believe Hamson is injured this season so out in both sports, but volleyball and basketball is not an easy duo. Volleyball playoffs have not even started and basketball is well in to the non-conference schedule. Not sure how she would balance the two. Would be tough!

Also a 6-4 Post from Utah was ranked #70 in 2016, but she chose volleyball over basketball at BYU.
