I'm going with the wing 3-pointer (750k).

I've always been a poor free throw shooter and, to me, a wing vs top of the key three-pointer is the same difficulty. My baseline threes are under 20% with lack of a backboard.

Part of me is like ''take the easy layup money, pay those bills!" but I'l take the 30ish% chance of making the three over a nearly guaranteed 50k. It's a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I’m taking the $50k. I think the pressure would be a huge detriment to my ability to hit anything else. Take away the pressure and I’m probably taking the FT.

If someone is giving away $50K, I'll take it. House needs some work over next couple of years. Besides, at the school where I walk my dog, there's a court that sometimes has a basketball left there. I've tried 3s and FTs. It's ugly. Like airball ugly. Age is a helluva thing.

Definitely taking the corner 3. I never found it any more difficult than anywhere else on the floor. I used to love to practice being trapped in the corner with the clock running down and shooting a fadeaway 3.

A layup can be a daunting task under that pressure. You might put too much on it. Shooting the 3 allows you some room to use a little muscle so you don’t have to baby it so much.

I would likely just take the 50k. But a wing 3 is my best 3pt shot, so if I was feeling confident that would be my choice.

Free throw. My chances of hitting a free throw (with a little pre-event practice at home) are almost as high as the layup for double the money. My odds of hitting a 3 pointer at well past my prime are nil.

If it is in an arena in front of a packed house I’m taking the layup.

If it’s alone at some random court, I’ll take the free throw.

Anything else anywhere else I have much much lower odds of making.

Top key 3 pt shot 500k x .25% = 125k expected payout. Prob 10% for corner and wing. 90% for layup.

Give me a couple months to get my 58 year old carcass to learn to shoot again with the arthritis and general lack of flexibility and I’ll take top of the key. Right now walking in the door I’d have no choice but a layup. It’s not so much for me who it’s in front of as it is age-related crappiness. Father Time remains undefeated.

Corner 3. Close to retirement and that would put me over the threshold. Probably about a 10% chance, maybe 25% if I practice first. FT is probably only 50%. I can even miss a layup.

Free $50k! My shooting ranges from Steph Curry to Ben Simmons on a daily basis so no way I’m taking that risk lol

This. I’m a pretty poor shooter from anywhere on the floor. So why not go for the mil.
