I just saw the the University of Hartford Hawks men's basketball was in the CIT? What is the CIT, I know of the NIT and the NCAAs, but are they in a post season tournament?? Is every team now got a chance to go to a tournament even if they don't have a winning record. (Not sure if UHart got a winning record, but what is next a 1-34 team winning a post season tournament?)

BC was invited and said no. You need something like 8 wins to go. If the nit is reno then the cit is tijuana Mexico

The CIT is for mid majors. Generally you need a winning record and you pay to host games. Like 25-35k for the first round.

The CBI is the other tourney. I feel like Pitt beat Oregon in the final one year. It used to have a bizarre best of 3 final if I remember correctly.

It is like a tournament for D-1AA (and non FB playing schools, like Hartford) who got winning records, but aren't in a power BB league (ie the old BE)?

Well 1-AA has never been a basketball designation but yes the CIT is specifically for non-major conferences.

I knew that, but since non-FB schools like Hartford were in the CIT, I kind of said the AmericanEast is like 1AA (Maine, UNH and Albany are 1-AA in FB), not like the old BE or the ACC.
