OT: Way Too Many Jalens

Jalen Rose is the first person I heard with the first name of Jalen. I don't know if there were any other athletes or college athletes before him that had the first name of Jalen or any other variations of that name spelled.

Jalen Rose is the first person on record with the name Jalen. His dad was James and he had a family member named Leonard. His mom blended the two names.

His dad was James (Jimmy Walker), but the story I heard was his mother's two brothers were Jay & Len and they both promised to help raise him when Jimmy (who played for the Pistons at the time) abandoned her while she was pregnant with Jaylen.

Not sure which is true (I wasn't there when it happened).

If this is true this is the craziest fact I've heard in a while.
Can read the story here.

Rose debuted as part of Michigan's Fab Five in 1991. The very next year, Jalen cracked the top 1,000 most popular names, according to the U.S. Social Security Office of the Actuary for U.S. Births. The name debuted at No. 378. The next year, when Rose was helping the Wolverines reach a second consecutive national title game, it jumped to 216.

I just figure, it seems not possible. But, since, now seeing maybe true fact.
Wouldn't it seem less possible that someone made up a lie about Jalen Rose being the first person ever named Jalen?
