Freaking Howard Cossell makes it watchable. Well, Charlene Tilton helps out quite a bit.

The 1st BOTNS was awesome. It opened with a "Up Close and Personal" feature on Lynda Carter bouncing, I mean working out, on a trampoline. The first event was Carter facing off against Adrienne Barbeau in swimming. They both lost to the mom from Little House on the Prarie who had the advantage of considerably less drag.
