Creighton vs. well no one really. I can't think of a college team named the woodpeckers. Perhaps that is for the best.

The jays that show up here are most often in groups. Strange to see a singular one. I believe Johns Hopkins has a Blue Jay mascot. Don't know of a woodpecker mascot, red bellied or otherwise.

Blue Jays are pretty mean birds. Pretty to look at though.

They are aggressive. They used to flock into the trees behind our house and make a terrible din. Scared birds away from the feeder with their racket.

Bama fan, I know what you mean about groups of blue jays. This morning, I had 4 blue jays in my yard. Coincidentally, I had a blue jay AND a male cardinal in my willow bush, outside my office window. What a treat.
