USF expected to dismiss 11 suspended players, 4 assistants

>>Eleven USF players, including three receivers and two tailbacks, were suspended from Thursday night's Gasparilla Bowl against Marshall, the Tampa Bay Times has learned.

Additionally, as many as four Bulls assistant coaches are expected to be dismissed, a source indicated Saturday.

Bulls coach Charlie Strong didn't immediately respond to a phone message Saturday, but told Times columnist Martin Fennelly he planned a personnel house-cleaning immediately following Thursday's 38-20 loss to Marshall.

"I'm telling you right now, we're going to clean up this whole program," Strong said. "A lot of guys will be leaving. We need a good washing."<<

lol looks like he feels the walls closing in on him. he'll get another year, but USF was one of the worst top 25 teams I've ever seen

If Shaun King gets fired, we should DEFINITELY try to find a spot. AAC recruiter of the year. He's their RBs coach right now.

I'd like us to kick the tires on a few players if their not total cancers.

Gotta be mindful of rules regarding in-conference transfers.

Sign all. UConn football is that desperate for talent.
Nope...lets say those players could flunk underwater basket weaving...USF signs anyone who is breathing...they are trying to improve their academics...

Actually started 7-0 and became the first team in history to then lose 6 in a row. Charlie Strong might someone go after as our new DC because he has not fared well as a HC at Texas or USF. Well, it might be fun to think about no matter how unlikely. He did a great job at Florida as DC before going to L'Ville as HC.

Upon further review: Starting 7-0, then becoming the first program ever to finish 7-6 may contribute to a house cleaning. On the other hand, what if UConn became the 2nd in 2019? ;)

Strong's record as a head coach is not great. He had 2 good years at Louisville and then got the big salary at Texas. He was a bust at Texas.

Because of his contract, there has been talk about firing Strong. His salary along with his coaches go up as does the buyout. This latest mess is on Strong.

Sounds like there is more to it if they are getting rid of 11 guys unless they are all red shirt juniors
