OT Univ Delaware HC fired

So, has Keeler landed anywhere else yet? Dave Brock, Rutgers offensive coordinator has taken over at Delaware.

He's a buddy of AD Eric Ziady from their days at BC. Still no word as to whether Delaware's aspirations are to step up to D-1 ball from what I can find.

Stay away until the smoke clears - this is the first time UD has EVER fired their FB coach. Think about that while you type "they are acting big time" or "hire the guy". There is a story here, but the Delaware press is even more beholden to UD than we see here. He was a star player, beloved alum, won a NC, and they unexpectedly fired him. This will set them back for years. Stay away until the smoke clears ....

Yeah, but the lack of any previous coach being fired might have something to do with the fact that the iconic Tubby Raymond was there for a very long time.....like 35 years over which he won over 300 and lost about 100. Keeler was the guy that succeeded Tubby.

Interesting read. Sounds like it was all on the AD and no scandal involving Keeler.

In Keeler's last few seasons, he may have still been a beloved alum yet was he really a beloved coach? News articles suggested recent declining support, but Keeler may not have been helped by a newly arrived AD from BCU. A Flipper disciple, who in turn hired a former BCU assistant and last year's Rutgers' OC, Dave Brock, as Keeler's replacement. There may be a story, but a wide variety of sentiments are shared on the Blue Hens' football board. The story does not appear to be known by UD fans.
