"George Springer, OF, Houston Astros: The question for the often spectacular defensive center fielder has been whether his offense would keep pace with the rest of his game, especially after he struggled late last season after a promotion to Class AA. That level was no match for him this year, as he had 19 homers and 55 RBI in 73 games before a promotion to Class AAA. His numbers actually have improved across the board – batting average, slugging and on-base -- since moving up and, at age 23, is on the verge of a major league callup."

He has a huge lead. Very nice. Portland Seadogs' stadium sucks. And it's packed. Bridgeport Bluefish's stadium is under-appreciated. Big time. That place should be packed every night.

Huh? - What the heck does the Portland Sea Dogs stadium have to do with George Springer, Houston Astros or UConn???

There was a good piece on SNY on Mazilli's son on Wednesday. Alot of UCONN pics and talk on his Uconn career. I was at a bar and couldn't hear what they were saying, but saw alot of Uconn and it was atleast 15 minutes of Uconn and the baseball team. Thought I would throw that out there.

If the Bluefish were a real minor-league team with an affiliation, I would go often. I want to see rising stars, not 32 year olds hanging on. But yes, it's a nice park and convenient to get to.

Need a push...

Archie Bradley gaining ground on George. Springer @ 48% - Bradley @ 41%.

Voting ends Wednesday.

Looks like Springer got roasted by a late push. Getting roasted by 19 points.

Yeah... Bradley's mom took to Facebook.

Hopefully the USA Today staff is smarter. "You get to help vote for this year's winner. Each member of the USA TODAY Sports baseball staff, the group that whittled a strong field down to five finalists, gets one vote and online fan balloting counts as two votes.
