2022 stats:
16.2 points
3.6 Rebounds
2.1 assists
0.7 steals

Pretty good numbers. Teams have to consider if a draft pick can deliver those numbers in the first 3 years. She brings a lot of hustle and leadership too.

The Sun has to be mindfull worry of remaining somewhat competitive during the the next few re-build years. The draftee candidates projected to be available at or about pick 6 are Joens (IS), Horston (TN), Osbourne (UCLA). who among those (none of whom exceed 6'2") would you see being more productive than Hayes over the next few years ?- who among those would best protect season ticket renewals and/or or fill more individual game seats over the next 3 years. How often is a 6th round pick even remaining on your roster after a few years.

I like Tiff, but does it really make sense for the Sun to give away the 6th overall pick in the upcoming draft for a 12-year, past-her-prime veteran?
I think yes if she's healthy. Hayes still has a solid 3-6 years left in the league and has averaged around 15 ppg for 6 straight years. A really solid player and has a lot of experience. The players who might be available at 6 per the WNBA Mock Draft include Charisma Osborne, Ashley Joens, Jordan Horston and Elizabeth Kitley. I'm not convinced any of them last in the league more than a few years, let alone become double figure scorers. I think it's a win for Connecticut.

Tiff has averaged between 12.9 ppg and 17.2 ppg for the last 8 years. She made 1st Team All-WNBA in 2018. I think she's still at her peak. The Connecticut fans will support her. Over the next few years, this is a winning proposition.

I don't trust this new GM, with literally no experience in this position. Love Tiff, but not a good move to get rid of a #6 pick. The team just got older.

One team thought she was better than the 6th pick and one didn't. I think her ability to pull UCONN fans to the games is a huge part of this decision.

Not only a12 year vet but she stays hurt a lot. Connecticut sun always get close to a championship and always mess up the roster.

In reality aside then the nr. 1 pick (Boston), there are no sure All NBA players in the 23 draft. The 24 draft is another story and giving away 24 draft picks seems like a bad idea. Tiff is better than any of the 23 draft picks not named Boston.
