This thread may start or devolve too quickly into politics but for those that were concerned about a connection, I did a little bit of checking on the google, and it appears the Think Pink campaign's charity of choice is the Kay Yow Foundation. I was personally concerned because of the news of the past week, but was relieved to find no connection between the Think Pink WCBB promotion and Komen for the Cure

Amen to that. I don't want to turn this into something political, so I'll say no more than that.

I will just scratch my head and wonder it became a good thing to demonize a group dedicated to ending cancer.

There are good reasons not to like the Komen outfit - their habit of trying to intimidate groups that use the phrase 'for the cure' is particularly grating to me. We participate in and volunteer for more than a few 'for the cure' events, (marathons, 5K;s, etc.) and I think it was poor form for the Komen group to decide that they had some sort of market on that. We're more Dana Farber/Livestrong peeps as a result.

That said, this week was disgusting. The end result of everyone getting their political rocks off on whatever side will be less money for cancer research. You can bank on that.

Stories like this make me hate people.
