Ot;These Are The 10 Most Boring Places To Live In Connecticut

In all seriousness that area from the Connecticut river valley to the shore seems full of beautiful New England towns. I'm not all that familiar with the area but last time I was back in CT. I spent a day driving around and East Haddam, Old Lyme, Essex etc. are great New England towns.

As a riveting 23 year old male who enjoys Connecticut basketball in the winter and drinking year round, here is my guide to fun.

  • Downtown New Haven
  • Anywhere along 95 south of Bridgeport, notably Stamford and South Norwalk
  • West Hartford / Hartford
  • Middletown in the summer
  • Casinos
Areas to avoid are: New Britain, Waterbury, The Valley, East of 91 (other than casino), north of 84, Bridgeport at night.

Good advice, but Hard Hittin' New Britain may be #1 in the nickname category

All nice towns with higher than average or high income on that list. Money must be boring.

Not sure why there's this fixation on age. People under 35 spend hours each day staring at their smartphones. How boring is that?
33 and reading this on my phone. Confirmed.

People go to CT to raise their kids for the exact reason that it IS very boring. Less trouble for a kid to get into. Didn't really work out for my crew, but the it's the general idea anyway.

I plan on frequenting down town New London , Stamford and South Norwalk next summer. The most boring places I've lived in Ct. Are Waterbury and New Milford ( my god). I'm from the Elm City.

You can get out of New London by car, ferry, train and plane( Groton airport). And nuclear submarine. There is a reason for this.
That is a most excellent line.

I can't say its anymore boring than any other small town, but Winsted may be about as crappy as CT gets. I grew up very close to it. It's like a poor man's Willimantic.

Winsted isn't even a town. It's part of Winchester, which has always seemed bassackwards to me.

A few years back if you walked home from a pub on any given summer night, you take a side street off Bank or State St. in New London get ready to step on a flurry of hypodermic needles.

I've lived all over this fine state.

There are so many towns where this is literally nothing you could make a list of places that people have never heard of that live here.

Kent? Brooklyn? Columbia? Andover? North Stonington? Lyme? Lebanon?

Oxford. Easton/Weston. Monroe.

Willamantic isn't, either. It's part of Windham.

Happy to be on this list. Moving to my current hometown is the best decision I ever made for me and my kid. Hiking, kayaking, a great bike trail, great town pool and skating rink. Good town center with lots of activities. Bandshell for concerts. Crime is virtually nonexistent. I'll take it.

New Milford is boring but that's why people move there. It's cheap and open. Also not far from the NY line or Danbury

The school system is excellent. Also this year the town has Rayon Christie (with several mid major offers) arguably 1 of the top three or 4 players in the state back for his senior year. EJ Crawford who played 3 years at SHS then prepped at St. Thomas More last year is headed to Iona next year. We are loaded this year!

SHS lost to Hartford Public in the state Class LL Tournament last year and returns just about everyone. So Christie & Co. will be great.

Here is EJ 1 of the best ever at SHS:

Rayon: 2014-15 (returns 2016)

I didn't pick those two "towns" by accident. I have a master plan. Once Adams gets inserted into the starting lineup my master plan will be complete (insert diabolical laugh).

Winsted/Winchester, Willimantic/Windham, Adams starts/Championship, Andre/Bitches.....Does it make sense now?

This website also named Westport the third most redneck town in CT., they clearly have the pulse of the state.

Haven't you seen all those yachts with the Confederate flag painted on them? I heard people in Westport drink champagne from cans....

Is Bridgewater still the only dry (no alcohol sales) town in CT or did they finally end that? If it's still in effect, my vote is for Bridgewater.

The least boring cities in CT has to be a joke? I lived in Stamford for a few years in my mid 20s and while other may think its super exciting, i got pretty bored of it, but those who are from the area with tons of friends may like it a lot better.

They didn't count movie theaters, plays, beaches, restaurants, live music venues, arts, museums, sports venues, etc.
The island from Lord of the Flies would top their chart.

I've lived in Fairfield County, New Haven County, Hartford County, Tolland County and Windham County, and have spent considerable time visiting with good friends in Litchfield, Middlesex and New London counties for decades. My work brings me all around the state as well.

There are things to like about each of them, some more than others, but IMO living in a shoreline suburb of New Haven is the best combination of the factors that I value most.

Bridgewater is beautiful though. There are a ton of very wealthy people who retire there. Biggest issue is you're at least 25 minutes form the highway
