As long as DeLoss Dodds is AD at UT Mack Brown will hang around...and do thngs like this. They have not been that good on D since Muschamp left for Gainseville. I'm actually not surprised Brown did this...since the other 2 DC's he had success with were available (GRob and Chizik). No matter what happens though UT will always get a majority the cream of the crop recruiting wise in TX.

Oh, this is very much ON topic, medic. Doesn't an FBS offensive line allowing five sacks to an FCS team equal what Texas' defense didn't do against BYU? Oh wait, PP thought the line played "pretty well" . . . . . ugh. What an incestuous poop-show UConn has

I'll crack the same joke as the other thread with this info: I hope Robinson's hiring at Texas takes him off the potential PP replacement list for 2014!

This guy actually has a pretty good rtrack record as a LB coach. He may have been in a bit over his head as a coordinator but I say we bring him here immediately to coach our LB's, move Wholley back to TE coach, move Foley back to OL and let GDL coach the cheerleaders.

Well, I guess you can say Texas does not tolerate failure and moves eliminate it, unlike the numbskulls in Storrs.

.-.
Where you can make comparison's, Mack is to Dodds as GDL is to P.

and let GDL coach the cheerleaders.

Hey! I don't want our university eye candy coached by that nincompoop! He'd install some sort of zone cheering where all the girls run into each other because their overly conservative clothing got in the way.

Don't worry Dooley, it's merely an honorary title as technically we no longer have cheerleaders.

Exactly. Accountability. The top programs have it. If that's where we want to aspire to be (and I don't know why we would bother playing at this level if we didn't), there needs to be some of that for the momentum-killing 2+ years under the PP/GDL regime.

Warde and PP are laughing at Texas. Smalltime mindset firing coaches like that.

One thing to keep in mind, Texas receives a ton of money on football specific donations when compared to us. I'd wager heavily that Dodds believed at least some major donors needed to see blood after the BYU game (it would be nice if we were in this position) and made Diaz the sacrificial lamb.

.-.
If that's the case, I'd go knocking on our big donors doors and tell them that if they raise the money needed to buy out Pasqualoni, UCONN will celebrate them at halftime. The Rent will rock!

What cheerleaders? You mean 'spirit squad'..?

During that game all I could think was "these BYU kids can't even get wasted to celebrated." Then I was like TALK ABOUT A WASTED OPPORTUNITY AMIRITE??????

Meh, go see what Shaggy Bevo has to say about Mack Brown's tenure. 20-17 since 2010. That is 3 years of terrible football.

He's been there 15 years and is 150 -40 ish, which is .750 and has a national championship. I think we'd take that. The point is I don't think anybody expects to underperform without consequences at Texas, and this includes Brown.

I actually don't like this. It is scapegoating, and sends exactly the wrong message to the fans, players and coaches, and it is disrespectful to BYU.. Did Mack Brown learn something new about Diaz against BYU that he didn't know on Friday or 10 days ago? A coordinator should not get fired in midseason unless he is clearly unprepared for or incapable of performing the job. A bad game by a college team is a terrible reason to fire a coordinator.

My issue with Pasqualoni is not that he lost to Towson. There have been something like 8 FCS wins this year, including 2 over top 20 FBS teams. My issue with Pasqualoni is that he started to get beat against Towson, and he rolled over. He quit on the game, and then blamed Whitmer after the game. We haven't learned anything new about Pasqualoni in a year. He just keeps confirming the facts that are obvious to everyone. He has no chance of being the coach next year and everyone knows it. So why is he still the coach?

When you know someone is the wrong guy for the job, you get rid of him. Waiting for x date, (end of season) is never the answer. His peers and subordinates (here the players) always realize what's up before the boss does and have to live day to day with all the problems he causes.
This includes the head coach.

the good news is that GRob is out of contention for the UConn job  but Mack is likely a goner at Texas. Another reason why you want to fire PP early and start the process to replace him is that once the Texas job is filled, there will be a massive chain reaction of coaches.

I'd wouldn't include Burton on this one. just sayin.
