Rumor has it that Hopkins wants a big extension that Houston wasn’t willing to give up. Even if true, this is a truly pathetic return for a top 3 WR who hasn’t turned 28 yet. Bill O’Brien is a total moron that has been rewarded with more and more control.

The NFL just increased the cap, so a lot of other teams might have had space to make a better trade if picks were the goal.

Hopkins can't be happy with being a cardinal either.

I'd always rather lose FAs than trade them. You get a year when they try their hardest for a new contract, & then you get a compensatory 3rd rounder when they sign elsewhere. Of course you wait a year for it so it's more like a 4th/5th rounder but still.
