16. "A poem as lovely as a tree", Joyce Kilmer. Joyce is a guy, by the way. I remember a funny parody of this in the Harvard Lampoon, from the mid-seventies. It began "I have a friend, her name is Maude. She makes love to trees, you think that's odd?" and ended with "poems are made by fools like me, but only Maude can make a tree".
