Leafs even skirted Bettman's "request" not to spend money during a potential lockout year. Big score for the Leafs. Big loss for the Islanders. Leafs become a favorite to win their first title in over 50 years.

Looking forward to Lamoriello draft picks in Bridgeport. Old man Trotz wasn't even enough to keep Tavares on Long Island. Stadium situation was definitely unfortunate for the Isles.

Lamoriello has lost some big names from his own teams before, especially the Devils. Have to wonder how his ego works behind the doors.

You have to mention the goalie situation for the Islanders if you are gonna mention the arena issue. That’s been a MAJOR problem for them for a while!

I thought it was fixed when Mr. Wang decided he could put a sumo wrestler in net?

I cannot understand why they did not keep Jaroslav Halak. He is a world class goalie.

I think many of Lamoriello’s decisions were $$ related. He placed a value on a player and if he could not sign that player for that number or less he let them go. He seemed to find the money for players he felt were not replacable. It did not always work out but three cups isn’t bad.
