And they probably only need one piece after Kemba to be a contender.

I think the fit/timeline would be pretty good. Boston's core isn't actually that young anymore (Tatum will be 3rd year, Brown 4th, Smart 6th, Hayward 10th), but they do lack leadership and a scoring guard. Well and a big unless Time Lord can take a big step forward.

Kinda bizarre they traded Baynes right after Horford declined his option. Guess they decided cap space was more important than having any startable bigs.

The Celtics are retooling around their young core, so giving Kemba doesn’t 4-5 years doesn’t make much sense. I also don’t think Boston is a contender with Kemba, and I’d rather see him go somewhere with more of a chance to contend.

Bringing Kemba back into the region would obviously be great for us. More time on campus, more exposure to northeast kids, the Kemba returning to the northeast hype.
