Some of our "friends" over at PC think Storrs is a hick town. Hell of a lot more construction going on over at UConn than to our eastern neighbors.

Just drove past the long and deep construction today. Unbelievable what will be. Memories of a few small shops and movie theater in 1976 live on but are blown away to the back of my mind.

Um, it is a hick town. But most of the towns surrounding big, public universities are.

Storrs Center looks like it's going to provide students with some things that have been missing - essentials (shops, grocery store, etc.), additional restaurants, and maybe a couple bars. And really, that's all a school like UConn needs.

Storrs center is open. Tenants are moving in. Phase I looks impressive. It looks a lot like Blue Back Square in West Hartford. Here is a link and some pics from the Courant.

I wish they had this center when I was there instead of a Store24, but I also probably couldn't get into the school today...so there's that!

My days as a frosh in Buckley really seem ancient now... Times sure have changed over the past 20 plus years.. a ton... still say to make this thing complete we should have a stadium for football on the Storrs campus

I feel bad for these kids. Where are they going to get the "aged" meat like we got at Universal?
