OT Sort OF: Met UK Fans

Vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale (where my wife had her wallet stolen, looking forward to dealing with TSA tomorrow without her photo ID, but supposedly have the info we need). Met a group of U Kentucy fans and had a nice conversation. One of them had UK tee shirt on and I was wearing a Huskies Hoops tee. Told them they should hold their breaths that their coach doesn't mess up their program. They seemed a little surprised that UConn fans hold squid in such low esteem. Obviously either not rabid or very rabid. fans They acknowledged our women's victory over theirs. Nice folks, or at least acted that way in front of their kids.

Everywhere he has left has had to vacate their NCAA final fours because of NCAA infractions. Trouble follows The Squid everywhere he goes. That is what the OP is refering to.

And like I've stated before, I don't think Cal has to do anything shady or untoward to get recruits to Kentucky. To Memphis or UMass, sure. Not Kentucky.

One of the contract employees I work with is a UK grad. He's a nice guy in general, but he's modest about their program and was very complimentary toward the UConn women. We had a conversation where he mentioned that his wife was a UK undergrad and had her masters from Louisville "but she went there because it was free". I thought it was funny that he felt the need to qualify the fact that his wife went to UL.

You're not serious right? Do you really believe they're flocking there because he makes players, who are already the creme of the crop, better and NBA-ready? Not proven and may not have done anything, but it's John "Louie C has cancer", "Marcus Camby kas a #21 diamond necklace and the others don't even go to class" Calipari...................don't sell him short on Kentucky's potential future findings!

He doesn't need to do that with one-and-done kids. No jewelry, no recruiting lies about other schools. Just that UK will take care of everything for that year while they audition for the NBA. I'm still mystified by the fact that UK has no APR problems.
