(Fun fact: Barry McGuire wanted to record California Dreaming and use the Mamas and the Papas as his back up group. The music producer said bring them in and let me listen to them, and then decided to use them without Barry Maguire.)
This classic from Steppenwolf was recorded in 1969. When I saw them 5 years later, John Kay introduced it as maybe more apt then then when it was written. With every passing decade I marvel at how the core message continues to be fresh.
