I haven't started a song thread in a while. I completely forgot about this guy, something reminded me of him recently. Had some good stuff in the 80s. Get it started with this. Have at it.

Had no idea who this guy was until I saw the name of the song. Still not sure if I knew any others. Anyway, for those of you Nutmeggers who just cannot get enough Howard Jones, he plays Wallingford Aug. 12.

This is a joke, right? The guy had one song.

Come on, plenty of you were around in the 80s. He wasn't a one hit wonder.

BYers, you disappoint me. If you say "I've never heard any of those songs," you must not have been around in the 80s.

Sorry, I lived right through the 80's (18-28). Guess I had better music to listen to. ;) (I have heard No One Is Too Blame though. )

Yeah, and even listening through that once was enough. At least "She Blinded Me With Science" by Dolby had a little humor.

Okay, I listened to Things Can Only Get Better, to which I now reply, Yes, by not listening to this song. I suspect that the reason so many of us do not remember much of his music is that it has a cotton candy-like aspect to it: Sweet enough going down, but unmemorable. Life in One Day is just the same. Fluff at best.

I think Howard Jones did a gig at David's back in the day. He's no Haircut 100, that's for sure,

Ok, sorry, this one was a fail. Thread can be shuffled off to the recycling bin.

"Doctor says your cured , but you still feel the pain!!!!!" I'm not a ashamed to say I used to know this song by heart and I'm from the hood. You can blame MTV.
Here's another gem from that era / genre :

Say what you want. I played highschool football and It's good music.

Thank you Horatio. I'm relieved at least one other person on planet earth admits to liking some of HoJo's songs.

Hey I just noticed, "No One is to Blame" has 1 million views and "Things Can Only Get Better" has 5 million views on you tube. Not bad for an unheard of nobody!

Ha! The 80's was definitely cheesy, but there was indeed some good music.

I'm with you nwhoopfan, I could perform a two hour medley of classic 80's cheese.
