I've heard his Brahms and the concerto seems to suit his personality and string tone. I'd love to see/hear him do the Mendelssohn. I'm on this Kyng-Wha Chung kick now and her older recordings. She's just so lithe and note perfect. She seems to bring out the underscore of pieces. Her doing Ravel's Tzigane is a revelation.You beat me to it. I saw him a few years ago doing the Brahms Concerto from the third row, probably not more than 30 feet from him. He's a guy who LOVES what he does. I'd love to have a beer with him.
