OT RIP Rob Reiner

I don't get why every media outlet is profiling his best movies and I haven't seen one that mentions Princess Bride.
It is one of the most quoted movies of all time as well as being great.

One of my favorite stories is how he gave Billy Crystal free reign and expected the Mad Max scene shoot and be done in a few hours at most. Crystal was so on and so incredible, one by one, crew members were asked to leave because they were laughing so loudly, the microphones were picking up the laughter. Even Reiner had to leave the set and eventually it was just the cast for the scene and one sound guy.

A Few Good Men is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Think how often Princess..., A Few Good Men, When Harry Met Sally and Spinal Tap, are quoted by fans.

Finally, I also loved the story of him going to his dad looking for advice as to who to cast as the lead and his best friend in When Harry Met Sally and Carl told him to go with Crystal. So he then decided to give Crystal a shot at being his actual best friend and the two were close for the rest of his life.

Whenever I see scenes from All in the Family I can still hear my long gone parents laughing. It was must see TV at the time. It made fun of bigotry and racism in the same way Blazing Saddles did. Reiner went on to make such a variety of movies that were really good. And when I was binge watching The Bear last summer up popped Rob Reiner. A small part but well done. It is unreal his own son used a knife to end his parents, Rob and Michele's life.
