Mel Kleckner passed at the age of 85. He played for Hugh Greer and was on UCONN's first NCAA tournament team in 1951. Longtime coach of East Windsor with 399 career wins ... RIP coach.

The EWHS team that had the starting lineup of:

C) Frank Eddy (the leafty)
F) Harrison
F) Samochuck
G) Lowery (PG)
G) the starter here varied

That team was very talented. They had some wars with All-State player Jerry Young at East Granby under Neuhauser. Also during that era Jake S. with Weston were a powerhouse.

MK's son was an All-State player for his father.
