Margot Kidder passes away at 69

So young.

After three marriages and thousands of dollars in medical bills, Kidder found herself homeless in 1996 as she struggled with bipolar disorder.

Her story grabbed the hearts of fans and Hollywood with many reaching out to help Kidder, who eventually got back on her feet and went on to become a mental health advocate
.

She died peacefully in her sleep, according to her manager...

RIP, I liked her version of Lois Lane, probably second only to Noel Neill.

Sad to hear this news. She is the forever Lois Lane to me ...

Sad case. So many problems.

You’re dating a lot of us. Can’t remember if it was before or after Noel Neill, but an actress I think named Phyllis Coates also played Lois in the TV show.

ETA: just googled. It was Phyllis Coates. Long term memory the last to go.

.-.
A complex, and in later years, a severely troubled woman. Hopefully she has found the peace she has long sought. RIP.

Kidder probably did the best acting job of them all, but it is unfair to compare them since the early TV Lois's had so little to work with.

I've Got You...You've Got Me,But Who's Got You.

one of the best movie scenes/lines....EVER.

(disclaimer: I am just an absurdly huge Superman fan).

Not fair to compare them really, but #1 for me is Dana Delaney who did the animated Lois for Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League.

I didn't hate Lois on Smallville either. But even then, TV show to movie isn't always a fair comparision when you can establish so much more range on a multiple season show.

For a lot of us who grew up in the 50's & 60's, Noel Neill will always be Lois Lane. Its not a slight to Margot Kidder or her performance as Lois Lane.
