OT- RIP Garry Shandling

This has been a bad week, Shandling was one of my all-time favorite comedians. Grew up watching the Garry Shandling show and his standup and then Larry Sanders came along. Larry Sanders was genius in my opinion, groundbreaking show.

Always a huge loss when it comes to great comedians. Garry was hilarious especially with that droopy straight face. According to this afternoons article the cause of death is not known. Just got home so maybe breaking news? Anybody?

My wife was going to her 20th high school reunion and telling me that she would be seeing her classmate Molly Cheek, who played the female lead Nancy. I asked if she would try to get me Garry Shandling's autograph...but with very explicit instructions.

A couple weeks later, I got an envelope w/a signed photo:

"To [Hans]:
This is Garry Shandling's autograph. How do you like it?
Garry Shandling"

Perfection.

I have very fond memories of watching his shows when I was younger. For some reason just seeing his pictures make me smile. RIP

I think the movie What Planet Are You From is very funny and underrated. The Larry Sanders Show was brilliant.

Massive MI. News did a piece last night that MI deaths are actually up over the last decade. Thinking it might be reliance on medication to control cholesterol/hypertension but not making certain lifestyle changes also necessary for healthy heart. That and obesity resulting in diabetes is epidemic in the US.
