She played such a great character. :(
 
That show would have major issues surviving today, it was cutting edge then. Funny as heck but too sensitive for this generation.
 
Wow, what a great, great actress...stage, screen, TV...had it all.

no - this generation needs to learn to laugh at itself. All in the Family was the"sit up and take notice" show of its generation. It brought to the fore sensitive issues such as bigotry through these wonderful characters and made people (the viewers) take a good hard look at themselves. Folks today are too scared of what they would see if forced to do so.


It would do them a world of good if you asked me.

Two very talented women who may even share a bit of a family resemblance, but they are not related.
True, something that I had forgotten. Jean Stapleton and her husband were involved with a theater and restaurant here in central PA. One that my wife and I have frequently attended.
